Ski Skills Class
2023 Ski Skills Class on Wednesday Nights!
Ski classes for Alpine and Telemark skiers keen to develop their skills.
Enjoy a break from the city and develop your skills so you can ski the backcountry with more enjoyment.
This evening program helps you improve your ski descent skills during uncrowded weeknights. We use the lifts to maximize focus on descent skills. Classes are organized by ability level — so that your classmates are skiing at about the same level.
All levels between “never skied” and “advanced” are available. (Sorry no expert level classes)
Location: Summit West — just across the freeway from the WAC Cabin, Exit 52 off of I-90
Days/Dates: Wednesdays: Jan 11, 18, 25; Feb 1, 8, 15 2023
If for any reason the pass is closed on a Wednesday, we’ll schedule makeups on Feb 23rd if needed.
Times: Lessons run from 7:00-9:00 PM — note changed time from last year.
Lesson cost: $260 prior to December 1st. After December 1st $310.
Enrollment only on a space available basis after December 15th. No enrollments after December 31st.
Lift tickets or seasons pass required and additional cost.
Season’s passes may be purchased through the program and are not subject to “Sold Out” conditions that can happen for season’s passes sold through the summit’s main website, Seasons passes must be purchased by December 15th. The “Remedy” and “Twilight” passes are the least expensive season’s passes usable for the program. The least expensive option is to purchase “Afternoon/Night” lift tickets for the six Wednesdays well in advance for the lesson dates. However a seasons pass that enables you to practice skills between lessons often enhances your progresssion.
A Rental season’s pass option added to your seasons lift pass for Alpine ski gear also available for Downhill/Randonnee/Alpine Touring students without their own gear. Sorry Telemark and Alpine Touring gear rentals not available through the Summit
Also this season we are also offering an “Uphill” session from 5:30PM to 6:30PM on the same Wednesday Nights. The “Uphill” sesson offers coaching on effective skinning and other uphill travel skills. Cost is $130 for the “Uphill” coaching sesson. You do not need a Season’s Pass or Lift ticket for the “Uphill” sessons. However you do need to get an “Uphill Travel Pass” for a nominal fee: https://summitatsnoqualmie.com/uphill-travel-policy
Routefinding, avalanche safety and winter camping skills are taught in a separate program, the WAC Backcountry travel class
