A fun all day trip with 14 miles, 3500′ gain of a remote scramble in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness near Snoqualmie Pass. There is a steep gully to reach the summit – class 3 scramble. Ice axe and helmet advised (used for balance on steep slope), with possible hand line for descent.
Tempo: Moderate pace. Quick enough to make the miles during the day, but we’ll be able to go slow at times to enjoy the wilderness without the weekend crowds.
Notes: Depending on interest we can also look to add Kaleetan Peak and make it a loop trip to the Melakwa Lake trailhead.
