+1 interest for Glacier/Olympus/Shuksan (Fisher chimneys maybe?) – Pete, Betsy- I can help organize these with you guys?

Update on Kangaroo Temple. Jeff Bower, Alexis, VW, and I will lead on June 30/July 1. We are looking at heading out of town with the rest of the traffic on Friday evening, perhaps heading in a mile or two for the night, and then climb and return on Saturday.

If you are looking at extending into Sunday or beyond, feel free to join us, we will just work out logistics.

We will be sending 1 or 2 teams up the NW face, and 2-3 teams up the North Ridge….depending on mood, ability, weather, etc.

It is time for the annual Summer Climb to Ingalls Peak (http://www.summitpost.org/ingalls-peaks/151160). This is a nice easy climb, in a rather spectacular setting (Mount Stuart is just across the valley), with a promise of good weather (from the NWS, not me). No (planned) walking around in the dark, in the rain, looking for the summit of a volcano. Just warm rock, big views, and perhaps some good Mexican food in Cle Elum.

This is a 3-pitch rock climb that goes at about 5.6. This year there is a 6-mile approach (the road is washed out about 1.2 miles from the usual trail head). I expect the last 1.5 miles (from Ingalls Pass to the base) to be on snow.

We will leave the trail head at 6:30am on Saturday morning (to try to beat the Mountaineers party on the route), returning to town Saturday evening. To make things simpler and more civilized, we will camp at 29 Pines (http://www.dnr.wa.gov/teanaway) – Discover Pass required for camping. This is about 30 minutes from the trailhead. NW Forest Pass is required for the trailhead (Iron Peak TH).

Gear (the stuff you would bring on the tooth is a good starting point):
    boots/gaiters/helmet/ice axe
Harness, belay device, runners, and slings, etc.
Clothing appropriate for the weather (sunny, 40s->60s, may be windy).
    Food….always bring food.

We will provide ropes and rack (leave room in your pack ).

Come celebrate the arrival of summer on the south face of Ingalls!

We have two leaders confirmed (Pat O’Brien, Mike). We have 3-5 follower slots (depending on how our other two leaders come through). I wanted to get this announce out early so you can plan. RSVP so we can start coordinating cars and such. Don’t hesitate to ask if you have questions.

Rob, do you mean July 22-23 or July 29-30? July 24 is a Monday.

Thanks Jennifer, I corrected it to July 22nd. But if people request the 29th that would be okay too.

Sunday, July 16th: Looking for climbing leaders/partners interested in an alpine climb somewhere on/around Snoqualmie Pass. I’m shooting a wedding in North Bend on Saturday, so was thinking of just staying up there for the night.

Goal is to get some trad climbing in, and happy to move quickly and cover decent mileage on an approach. Also happy to do some planning myself, just wanted to check to see who might be free and what the interest might be for a one day mission…

bfmawhinney@gmail.com if you’d like to connect directly.
